NORTH BEND, Washington — East King County fire officials say a 16-year-old boy was pulled unconscious from Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend, Washington, but a former nurse was on hand and quickly started CPR until medics could reach the scene.

KCPQ-TV reports (http://is.gd/aUtEG5 ) that Eastside Fire and Rescue says the boy was rushed to a Bellevue hospital. His condition was not known Thursday night.

Fire officials say witnesses report the boy was under the water for about three to five minutes Thursday before he was pulled out near the boat launch.

The King County sheriff's office says the lake's water temperature was 68 degrees earlier this week.
