BRIDGEWATER, Vermont — Vermont state police say a motorcyclist has died of injuries suffered in a crash last week in Bridgewater.

Police say 62-year-old Craig Fairfield of Waterford, New York, was traveling on Route 4 on June 15, when he slowed down to turn into a rest area and was struck from behind by another motorcycle.

Fairfield suffered severe head trauma. Police say he was hospitalized in intensive care and died on Tuesday.

WCAX-TV reports that the other motorcyclist — 76-year-old Peter Fulgan of Green Island, New York — suffered cuts and scrapes in the collision.

Police say the motorcycles were traveling at about 25 to 35 mph when the crash occurred. Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
