Baton Rouge police: woman dies when her SUV slams into utility pole

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Baton Rouge police say a 43-year-old woman died when she lost control of her SUV and crashed into a utility pole.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely says Angela Ayers was heading west on South Choctaw Drive just after midnight Saturday when her SUV veered off the street and slammed into a utility pole.

McKneely tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1EAV2jX) Ayers, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
