Giants' defense will be missing key players against Niners: Ayers, Kennard out


EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Strong side linebacker and defensive linemen Jr. and are going to miss the New York Giants game Sunday night against the San Francisco 49ers with injuries.

Coach ruled out the three players and receiver on Friday after they did not practice.

Ayers has missed two three straight games with a hamstring injury. Kennard pulled a hamstring last weekend in the win over Buffalo, and Selvie hurt a calf. Cruz has been sidelined all season with a calf injury.

Linebacker (calf) and backup cornerbacks (concussion) and (groin) are questionable for the game.

Tight end (knee), tackle (ankle) and defensive tackle (knee) all practiced and are probable.
