Man dies in motorcycle crash on US Highway 93 near Lolo

MISSOULA, Montana — A 22-year-old Missoula man has died after a motorcycle crash near Lolo.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was speeding northbound when he entered a right-hand curve on U.S. Highway 93 shortly after 11 p.m. Monday. The motorcycle crossed the yellow line, went into the median and struck a concrete barrier and a steel sign support on top of the barrier. The force of the impact broke the support and the driver came to rest on top of the barrier.

The patrol says he died at the scene of blunt force trauma. He was wearing a helmet.

The victim's name was withheld until family members could be notified.
