ATLANTA — Fulton County prosecutors say a woman has been sentenced to life in the slaying of an East Point police corporal.

Danielle Alexis Parker entered a guilty plea Wednesday in the death of 34-year-old Crystal Parker before jury selection began. She was charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Investigators have said Crystal Parker was found fatally shot in her East Point home and authorities determined she was wounded in the head at close range while she slept on July 4, 2013.

Fulton County District Attorney's spokeswoman Yvette Jones says Danielle Parker was Crystal Parker's estranged wife and became jealous of her new relationship. Prosecutors say Crystal Parker was killed a day after visiting her new girlfriend in Florida.
