Drought disaster loans available in 3 Virginia counties for small businesses and nonprofits

RICHMOND, Virginia — Small businesses and private nonprofits in three Virginia counties can apply for drought-related disaster loans.

The U.S. Small Business Administration says economic injury disaster loans are available in Augusta, Bath and Highland counties for financial losses resulting from a drought that occurred from June 1, 2014, through Oct. 31, 2014.

Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations affected by the drought are eligible.

Loans of up to $2 million are available.

The deadline to submit a loan application is Oct. 13.
