7 injured after gunfire erupts at Southern California house party


MORENO VALLEY, California — Authorities say seven people were injured when gunfire broke out at a Southern California house party.

Witnesses told KABC-TV an uninvited guest opened fire at the Moreno Valley house after being turned away from a moving-out party early Sunday.

Andre Spikes said the shooting occurred shortly after midnight as the party was wrapping up and people were leaving the house. He described a chaotic scene as partygoers ran for cover.

Riverside County Sheriff's authorities said none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise said ( ) an eviction notice on the front door said the occupants had to vacate the house no longer than 6 a.m. Sunday.
