Tornado watch adjusted, remains in place for south, east Arkansas; storms continue

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — The National Weather Service has canceled a tornado watch for central Arkansas but watches remain in place in the southern and eastern reaches of the state.

The watches are in force until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Separate lines of storms were moving through western and eastern Arkansas as evening approached Tuesday. The stronger of the storm bands was in the east, running between El Dorado and West Memphis.

Forecasters said isolated tornadoes are possible, as is damage from strong straight-line winds and large hail.

Tornado warnings were issued in far southwest and far northeast Arkansas but there were no reports of significant damage.

A flash flood watch covers most of the state and officials warn motorists to not drive through low crossings that are covered with water.
