HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning in Huntsville and other areas in western Alabama.

Forecasters say flash flooding is possible in southern Madison County and southeastern Limestone County as thunderstorms move through the region Friday.

Officials say between 1 and 2 inches of rain has already fallen in some areas, and additional heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in the Huntsville area.

Forecasters say small streams in Marion and Winston counties are also at risk of flooding.
