TRENTON, New Jersey — Gov. Chris Christie is rallying the newly elected Republican troops.

Christie is scheduled to deliver a speech Monday at a new members' orientation lunch in Washington. D.C.

The event will be closed to the press. It comes as Christie is wrapping up his term as chair of the Republican Governors Association.

Christie has been on a victory lap after Republican gubernatorial candidates did better than many had expected during this month's midterm elections.
