Senate passes bill to create comprehensive school safety program, including anonymous tip line


CHEYENNE, Wyoming — The state Senate has narrowly passed a bill that would create a comprehensive school safety program in Wyoming, including a tip line for the confidential reporting of potential threats or violence in schools.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports ( ) the bill would create a team under the Division of Criminal Investigation that would provide ways to report such threats and refer credible reports to the proper authorities.

The bill passed on a 16-13 vote Thursday.

It now goes to the state House of Representatives for a concurrence vote.
