ANAHEIM, California — Authorities have identified a stabbing suspect shot and killed by Anaheim police after she confronted officers with two knives during a standoff at her apartment complex.

Police say 43-year-old Monique Jenee Deckard was suspected of stabbing another woman Sunday at a laundromat about a mile from Disneyland.

Witnesses told officers the suspect fled to the apartment near the laundromat.

Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn says when officers went to the woman's door, she refused to come out.

The officers requested the help of a negotiator, and as they waited for the negotiator to arrive the woman came out with two knives.

Dunn said the officers shot the woman in an open courtyard.

City News Service says the stabbing victim had non-life threatening injuries.

Orange County prosecutors are investigating.
