PHOENIX — Authorities say one suspect is in custody after a security guard was found fatally shot in a car in south Phoenix.

Phoenix police identified the victim as 54-year-old Christopher L. Cipolla.

They say 19-year-old Aric Eugene Robinson has been booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and a second suspect in the case is being questioned.

Police say the car crashed into a shopping center's parking lot wall before dawn Monday in the area of 35th and Southern avenues.

Officers responding to a report of shots being fired say they saw two men running from the area.

Police believe the security guard drove up on the two suspects as they were trying to break in to a building.

One suspect was found hiding in a backyard and was detained.
