SUMMERTON, South Carolina — Clarendon County deputies say a shooting in the parking lot of a nightclub killed one man and wounded three others.

Authorities said in a press release that the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday as deputies were trying to get to the parking lot of the Crystal Lounge to check on a large crowd gathered there.

Deputies say the shooting happened after a fight.

Investigators say family members took Shawn Carter to the hospital, where he died. Three other people were wounded and also taken for emergency care.

Deputies say witnesses saw the shooter leave from the club several miles north of Summerton in a white vehicle.

No arrests have been made.
