Police looking for pickup truck possibly involved in fatal upstate NY hit-and-run accident

WATERLOO, N.Y. — State police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that might have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident.

They say the victim was a man found lying on a road just after midnight Monday in the Finger Lakes town of Waterloo.

There are few details about how he was killed, but troopers say he was likely hit by one vehicle while walking on or alongside State Route 5 and 20.

They're looking for the dark-colored pickup truck, which they say might be a Ford, because it either hit the victim or would have had to drive around his body. The vehicle involved would have front-end damage.

The victim's name is expected to be released later in the day.

Waterloo is 40 miles southeast of Rochester.
