2 Kentucky teens found dead after car crashes in Laurel County near campground

LEXINGTON, Kentucky — Police say two Kentucky teenagers were killed when their car crashed in Laurel County near a campground.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root said in a news release that the crash occurred sometime over Friday evening about 18 miles west of London, but the car was not found until Saturday afternoon on the bottom of an embankment in the Bee Rock Campground area.

The Herald-Leader reports (http://bit.ly/YeosQz ) that 19-year-old Joshua Campbell, of London, and 19-year-old David Shepherd, of Lily, had to be extricated from the vehicle and were pronounced dead on the scene.

The sheriff's office said the car apparently ran off the road, hit a sign, a Dumpster and a large rock, then went through a wooded area where the car hit a tree and overturned.
