State police: Crowley man killed during Monday shootout with Crowley police

CROWLEY, Louisiana — State police say Crowley police officers responding to a domestic disturbance shot and killed a man who fired shots from inside a home.

Master Trooper Brooks David (DAH'-veed) tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1r6Hp5J ) state police detectives were called around 1 p.m. Monday to investigate the shooting.

David said a man inside the home fired a number of times as Crowley police arrived. He says the officers returned gunfire, killing the man.

Police have not released the victim's name.

Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson said all comments in the case would come from state police.
