BURLINGTON, Vermont — The secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs is going to be in Vermont and New Hampshire trying to lure young physicians into careers with the V.A.

V.A. Secretary Robert McDonald is scheduled to meet Monday with students at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and then travel to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, to meet with students there.

McDonald is expected to tout a new federal law that supports medical residencies at V.A. hospitals that will provide substantial debt assistance to physicians.
