Camarillo City Council extends moratorium on pornography filming

CAMARILLO, California — Camarillo has extended the moratorium on production of pornographic movies that the city instituted after it received a sharp increase in film permit requests earlier this year.

The Ventura County Star says (http://bit.ly/10l7YjY ) the City Council voted Wednesday to extend the moratorium to 10 months, 15 days.

Since Los Angeles County passed a law requiring pornography actors to wear condoms last year, production companies have been scouting for sites outside the San Fernando Valley, where most U.S. adult films are shot.

Neighboring Ventura County approved a similar measure Wednesday requiring pornography actors to wear condoms during filming in unincorporated areas.

Simi Valley, which like Camarillo is located in Ventura County, has a similar mandate.

A state bill requiring pornography actors to wear condoms is pending in the Legislature.
