POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — The Broward Sheriff's Office says a man was killed by a train after the tire of his bicycle got stuck on the railroad track.
Detectives believe the death of 45-year-old James Marine was accidental. Authorities are waiting for results from an autopsy and toxicology report.
The sheriff's office report says Marine tried to free his bike as the train approached Friday night in Pompano Beach. The train conductor attempted to slow down the train, but as the train approached Marine was struck and killed.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead on the scene.
The investigation continues.
