LOS ANGELES — A driver being followed by a Los Angeles police officer has struck pedestrians and a car, injuring seven people, including a 13-year-old girl.

Officer Mike Lopez says the injuries aren't life-threatening.

Lopez says a motorcycle officer tried to stop the car around 10:45 a.m. Saturday for running a red light on a downtown street but it kept going. The officer followed but without using lights or siren.

Lopez says the car went about four blocks to Eighth and Main streets, where it hit a woman and a 13-year-old girl.

The car continued on about a block and struck a car with four people inside.

All of the injured are in stable condition.

Lopez says the driver, a 35-year-old man, also was treated for injuries and could face hit-and-run charges.
