Authorities identify 4-year-old Plankinton girl who died after incident at Lake Kampeska

WATERTOWN, South Dakota — Authorities have identified a 4-year-old girl who died after being pulled from a Watertown lake.

Braelynn Erlandson, of Plankinton, died Friday at a hospital in Sioux Falls, a day after the incident at Lake Kampeska.

Emergency crews were called to the lake shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday. The child was out of the water and being given CPR when crews arrived.

She was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown and then flown to Sioux Falls, where she died.
