Rangers scratch LHP Derek Holland from intrasquad start, but it's 'no biggie.' he says

SURPRISE, Arizona — Left-hander Derek Holland was scratched from the Texas Rangers' intrasquad game Sunday with a sore shoulder.

"This was not an alarm-bell one," Rangers GM Jon Daniels said. "We'll push him back a day or two."

Daniels says "hopefully it is not anything outside of the normal spring soreness for a pitcher. He wants to throw, but we're going to take it from him."

Holland, a 16-game winner in 2011, was limited to six games and 37 innings last year after knee surgery in January 2014 because of an off--field injury. Holland said he felt "a quick little zinger in there" while throwing Saturday.

"This is precautionary," Holland said. "Don't freak out. I've got to respect their decision and do what they say. It is not a big deal. Please, let's not blow this out of proportion. It's a little tender there, nothing big. The guys are going to take care of me. It's no biggie."
