Vermont man recovering from northern New Hampshire snowmobile crash

ERROL, New Hampshire — Authorities say a Vermont man is recovering from injuries after his snowmobile went through a bridge railing and into a brook in New Hampshire.

Fish and Game conservation officers say 31-year-old Alan Gilmore of Tinmouth, Vermont, got stuck in new snow on a trail in Errol on Wednesday. He received help from a groomer operator to get out of the snow, but the machine shot across the trail through the railing as he was driving out.

The machine landed on top of Gilmore, injuring his left shoulder.

The groomer operator assisted Gilmore into the groomer and gave him some quick medical care before he was taken to a hospital.
