Police: 2 motorists die in traffic accident in Lake Charles, 1 driver booked with DWI

LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana — Police say two motorists died in a traffic accident in Lake Charles.

The accident happened early Sunday morning when a pickup and car collided head-on.

Mark A. Kraus, deputy chief of police and department spokesman, tells the American Press (http://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) after the impact the car was struck by a Jeep.

Kraus says the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger died at a nearby hospital.

The victims' names have not been released.

Kraus the driver of the pickup, 23-year-old Mark Kibodeaux (KIB'-uh-doh), of Sulphur, was arrested at the scene and booked for DWI.

It was unclear whether Kibodeaux has an attorney.
