El Dorado police say suspect in custody in shooting that killed 1, wounded another


EL DORADO, Arkansas — Police in El Dorado say a suspect is in custody in a shooting that killed one man and wounded another.

Police spokesman Kevin Holt told the El Dorado News-Times ( ) that 23-year-old Cordario Cortez Floyd was pronounced dead at a hospital Wednesday after being found on the porch of a home by officers investigating a shooting. A second person was found with a gunshot wound to the neck and was hospitalized in undisclosed condition.

Police say investigators later identified a suspect in the shooting and have arrested him for capital murder and other charges. The suspect is being held on $1 million bond.
