4 arrested, charged in weekend shooting in Raleigh that left 1 dead, 1 wounded


RALEIGH, North Carolina — Raleigh police have made four arrests stemming from a weekend shooting in a park near the North Carolina State campus that left one man dead and another wounded.

Local media outlets report that 22-year-old Enrique Samuel Valenzuela and 20-year-old Luis Enrique Mondragon are each charged with murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Both are in jail and it was not immediately known if they had attorneys.

Another man and a woman have been charged with being accessories after the fact and with drug charges.

Authorities say that 18-year-old Irvin Adan Gonzalez-Martinez was shot and killed last Saturday night. A second man was shot but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Police described the incident as a drive-by shooting.
