Pedestrian struck, killed in Cheswold, Delaware; driver flees scene

CHESWOLD, Delaware — Delaware State Police say a man was hit and killed in Cheswold and the striking vehicle fled the scene.

It happened shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday on North DuPont Highway. Troopers say a delivery driver saw a man lying in a driveway. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say the car that hit the pedestrian left the scene.
