Time for the unveiling: Spoleto Festival USA unveils poster for 37th season in Charleston

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — The Spoleto Festival USA is unveiling its poster for the 37th season of the arts festival.

Festival General Manager Nigel Redden unveils the poster at a shoe store in downtown Charleston on Tuesday.

This year's Spoleto Festival USA runs from May 24 through June 9. It features 160 performances by 45 artistic ensembles. The offerings range from Greek tragedy to Shakespearean comedy to modern graphic novels.

There is also a chorus singing Verdi, two original operas, Flamenco dancers and contemporary bluegrass.

The festival was founded in Charleston by the late composer Gian Carlo Menotti.
