Police: 91-year-old man dies after being struck by car while crossing street

ARLINGTON, Massachusetts — Police say a 91-year-old man has been died after being struck by a car as he was crossing a street in Arlington.

Police Chief Frederick Ryan said the man appeared to have been in a crosswalk when he was struck on Massachusetts Avenue just before 11 a.m. Monday.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Ryan said the driver of the Honda Civic that hit the man is a 60-year-old woman from Woburn.

The names of the victim and the driver were not immediately released by police.
