HINSDALE, Massachusetts — Police say two Berkshire County residents are facing charges for allegedly bringing heroin into the region from Holyoke.

State police say members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force and troopers from the Cheshire barracks pulled over a car on Route 8 in Hinsdale at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

A search of the vehicle yielded 180 bags of heroin with a street value of $3,600, along with drug paraphernalia.

The Berkshire Eagle (http://bit.ly/1qo4fnP ) reports that the driver, 26-year-old Alicia Gattuso of Hinsdale, and 33-year-old Jeffrey Deeley, of Adams, were each charged each with possession to distribute heroin and conspiracy to violate state drug laws.

Both were held on $10,000 bail pending arraignment Tuesday. It was not clear if they had lawyers.
