Small plane travels off Delaware runaway into yard after landing; no one injured

WYOMING, Delaware — Delaware State Police say a single-engine crashed after landing at an airport near Wyoming.

It happened shortly after 7 a.m. Friday. Troopers say the 1980 Piper fixed wing plane made a planned landing at Jenkins Airport.

Police say the plane traveled off the grassy runaway, across a road and came to a stop in an empty yard.

Authorities say the pilot and lone passenger, both from New Jersey, were not hurt. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
