ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A teenager who fell about 100 feet on a mountain near Palmer was lifted to safety by a LifeMed Alaska helicopter.
Alaska State Troopers say the youth was injured Tuesday night on Lazy Mountain but that his injuries were not life-threatening.
The nearly 3,700-foot peak is popular with hikers and runners. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough says on its website that climbing without cleats is dangerous because of icy conditions.
The Anchorage Daily News (http://bit.ly/1nvXlXK) reports the injured teenager may have suffered a broken leg.
