BALTIMORE, Maryland — Cameron Ayers scored 22 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 17 seconds left, to put Bucknell over Loyola (Md.) 55-53 on Wednesday night.
Bucknell went 11-4 to start and held Loyola to just 14 first-half points. But the Greyhounds opened the second period with a 28-7 run to lead by seven, 42-35, with 10:04 to play.
With the Bison trailing by one, Ayers sank a 3-pointer with 17 seconds on the clock to put Bucknell back on top for the win.
John Azzinaro came off the bench to add 12 points for the Bison (13-13, 8-7 Patriot). Dom Hoffman scored 10 with eight rebounds.
The Bison had 16 turnovers during the game, 10 of which came as steals by the Greyhounds.
