Lawsuit filed over 2013 skier death at Aspen Mountain.

ASPEN, Colorado — A civil lawsuit has been filed in a 2013 fatal collision between skiers on Aspen Mountain.

The Aspen Times reports ( ) the lawsuit filed last week in Pitkin County Court alleges a woman who collided with 48-year-old Natalie Egleston, of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, ignored warnings to check her speed. The lawsuit also claims the woman was skiing wildly and out of control when she collided with Egleston, who died Feb. 4, 2013, after sustaining a traumatic brain injury.

The lawsuit names Dr. Virginia L. Chen, a New York City dermatologist, as the defendant. A message left at her New York office Sunday was not immediately returned.

The collision happened where another trail merges into Spark Gulch. Pitkin County authorities declined to pursue criminal charges.
