S. Idaho man sentenced to life for shooting and stabbing death of Filer man

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — A southern Idaho man has been sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing and shooting death of a Filer man.

The Times-News reports ( that 23-year-old Bradly Frank James received the sentence Tuesday in 5th District Court and must serve 15 years before becoming eligible for parole.

James, the grandson of Idaho Department of Correction Director Brent Reinke, pleaded guilty July 14 to second-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Larry Miller.

Prosecutors said that on Dec. 12, James went to Miller's home and shot him in the face with a rifle and stabbed him 25 times.

Miller was still alive when officers found him a few blocks away, but died at the scene.

James' defense attorney says a psychiatrist believes James, a U.S. military veteran, has PTSD.
