FARGO, North Dakota — U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says a 58-year-old Wisconsin man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on 14 counts of possession of materials containing child pornography.
Robert Carey Evans, 58, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson on Monday and ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
Prosecutors say they seized more than 13 hard drives and 43 DVDs from Evans' apartment containing child pornography. A forensic examination of the media revealed more than 22,000 images and nearly 1400 videos of child pornography.
A North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations special agent assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered two computers located in North Dakota sharing files in a peer-to-peer network.
A jury found Evans guilty in October.
