Gov. Chris Christie to host town hall next week in Somerville to discuss budget, pensions

TRENTON, New Jersey — Gov. Chris Christie is hosting another town hall to discuss his recent budget plan and proposed pension changes.

Christie's office announced Thursday that the Republican governor will host his 130th town hall on Tuesday in Somerville.

Residents interesting in attending are asked to RSVP at TownHall.Somerville@nj.gov. Doors at the Van Derveer Elementary School's gymnasium open at 9:30 a.m. and seating is first come, first serve.

Christie defended his budget plan for the upcoming fiscal year at a town hall in Fair Lawn Wednesday and urged parents not to opt out of new standardized tests aligned with the Common Core standards.
