SYRACUSE, New York — A 30-year-old central New York man who pleaded guilty to murdering a school librarian and raping a 10-year-old girl also targeted another woman and child the night of the crime.
That's according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in state Supreme Court.
According to The Post-Standard of Syracuse (http://bit.ly/1epDAwU ), state police confirmed that investigators interviewed a woman who said David Renz approached her before he committed the crimes in suburban Syracuse a year ago.
The lawsuit accuses a mall owner of improperly designing and maintaining an area where a gymnastics school is located. The victims had just left the school when the attack occurred.
The company that makes the electronic ankle bracelet Renz deactivated also is named in the suit. Renz was wearing the monitor because of child pornography charges.
