Florida woman sentenced to 2 to 6 years in prison for $120,000 NY pension theft

ALBANY, New York — New York authorities say a Florida woman is going to prison for falsely claiming more than $120,000 in retirement benefits from the state's retirement fund for public employees.

According to the attorney general and comptroller's offices, 64-year-old Graycelia Cizik, of Polk County, has been sentenced to two to six years in prison.

They say she pleaded guilty to grand larceny in January and has agreed to a judgment against her for the pension benefits.

Authorities say Cizik continued to collect the benefits on behalf of her uncle, a pensioner who retired from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, for 12 years after he died.
