Snow helps police track, arrest suspect

Columbus police officers followed tracks in the snow to arrest a suspect accused of theft and unauthorized entry into a car.

Corey A. Huddleston, 21, 1520 Union St., was found hiding in a shed in the 100 block of North Ross Street at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police spokesman.

A theft of a GPS and other property had been reported in the 2600 block of Indiana Avenue and officers saw footprints in the snow leading away from the vehicle, Harris said.

Officers followed the footprints to the shed where they found Huddleston and the missing property, Harris said.

Huddleston is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $12,500 bond, according to jail officials.
