Seminar to examine youth data

Staff Reports

Indiana Youth Institute is hosting a seminar from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in Conference Room 2 at the Jennings County Public Library, 2375 N. State Road 3 in North Vernon, to explain what data means about life for children and teenagers in Jennings County.

The seminar is open to parents, educators, counselors, youth ministers, youth workers and others.

IYI Data Program Associate Aimee Wilkinson will explain the numbers in the 2015 KIDS COUNT in Indiana Data Book, such as teen drug use, education, poverty and health information. She also will provide the most current information specific to Jennings County, and also explain how to find reliable information and use it — such as writing grant proposals, understanding trends among youth and planning programs.

The seminar and meal are free, but reservations are required by Monday. Go online at surveymonkey.com/s/JenningsCoYWC022415. Information: contact IYI Statewide Outreach Manager Debbie Jones at [email protected].
