I am a Democrat, and I live outside the city limits of Columbus, so I have no vote on whom the GOP selects to run for mayor.
I do, however, have a stake as a county resident in who becomes the chief executive of the county seat, and I hope the GOP nominates Jim Lienhoop.
I volunteered with Jim for 10 years as half of a two-person finance committee on the board of Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. I greatly respect him for his wisdom, ethics, integrity and compassion, and his calm, reasoned and collaborative management style would be a blessing for the community.
