Thomas R. Coop, 70, of Columbus, died at 7:58 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.

Mr. Coop retired in 1994 from Cummins Engine Company where he had worked for 30 years.

He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed NASCAR and was a Tony Stewart fan.

In keeping with Mr. Coop’s wishes, cremation is planned and private inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Glasgow, Kentucky, September 4, 1944, Mr. Coop was the son of Enoch and Georgia Alexander Coop.

He married MaryAnn Hammack, July 2, 1963.

Survivors include his wife, MaryAnn Coop; daughters, Vicki (Keith) Huff of Columbus and Amy (Shawn) Grigsby of Fairfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan (Shellie) Huff, Chelsea Huff, Amber Coop and Brandon Purdue; and great-grandchildren, Michael Bentancort and Kamryn Purdue.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Stadtmiller.
