Scholarship awarded

Columbus North High School student Olivia C. Malone is one of about 800 students nationwide that received a $2,500 National Achievement Scholarship.

The awards are given to outstanding black American high school seniors through the National Achievement Scholarship Program. Created in 1964, the program provides scholarships in an annual competition.

Lilly Scholarship winner

Seymour High School senior Andrew Rudge has been selected as the Community Foundation of Jackson County’s 2015 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar. He receives a full-tuition, four-year scholarship to a state college.

Rudge, the son of Keith and Christin Rudge, plans to attend Purdue University and major in mechanical engineering.

Variety show planned

Trinity Lutheran High School in Seymour will present a variety show at 7 p.m. Friday in its gymnasium. Admission is $5 per person.
