FEMALE

Debie Gedeon, Columbus North senior track athlete

Gedeon won the 100-meter hurdles in a school-record 14.62 seconds, finished fourth in both the 100 (13.03) and 300 hurdles (48.37) and anchored the sixth-place 400 relay team to help the Bull Dogs to a third-place finish in the Conference Indiana meet.

Her performance last week:

“I’ve broken 15 (in the 100 hurdles) three times, and that’s obviously the best I’ve done, so it’s exciting. I kind of am competitive with the other (North) hurdlers, and Michael (Behling) is pretty successful. He was talking about how he’s won conference before right before I ran, so I was like ‘OK, I’ve never won conference and you have,’ so that kind of pumped me up.”
