CPD issues tickets, warnings to drivers in school zones

Four Columbus police officers issued 35 citations and 42 written warnings after checking for speeding and distracted drivers during a Back to School Traffic Blitz on Monday.

The officers stopped several vehicles in and around school zones as well as main streets around town.

One criminal traffic arrest also was made, said Sgt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
