GREENSBURG — South Decatur carded its best nine-hole score of the season in finishing second in a tri match at Wyaloosing Creek.
Indian Creek won the event with a 194. The Cougars carded a 203, and North Decatur finished with a 212.
Shelby Vannatta led South Decatur with a 48. Lydia Wolterman and Olivia Clarkson each shot 51, while Annie Gant carded a 53, Kyley Caperoon added a 63 and Olivia Fry had a 64.
Thunderbirds top Eagles
NASHVILLE — Emma Bawinkel won medalist honors with a 44, but Brown County fell to Eastern Greene 204-207 at Salt Creek.
Kacee Kleindorfer carded a 51 for the Eagles. Ashley Masteller and Morgan Harrison each shot 56, while Megan Cassiday added a 58, Lauren Burker and Tori Akles each shot 59, Jessica Taylor had a 61 and Coralynne Robinson finished with a 66.
Panthers take third
NORTH VERNON — Jennings County finished third in a tri match at St. Anne’s.
Providence won the match with a 186. Floyd Central carded a 209, and the Panthers finished with a 233.
Kassi Whitehead led Jennings with a 43. Peyton Whitehead and Allie Clark each shot 63, and Marina Sigmund and Rachel Greene each shot 64.
“Some of them, it was their first nine-hole match,” Jennings coach Kellie Hensley said. “They just have so settle down and get rid of some three-putts, and they’ll be OK.”
