Irwin Gardens movie series opens Saturday

A four-event classic film series on the lawn of The Inn at Irwin Gardens, 608 Fifth St., opens Saturday.

Columbus’ YES Cinema is teaming with Irwin Gardens as a fundraiser for the Lincoln-Central Neighborhood Family Center.

The opening movie in the series is “The Long Hot Summer,” from 1958, starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward and Anthony Franciosa. Gates open at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The movies will be shown on YES’ mobile projector with a 12-foot screen.

People who attend are asked to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs for seating.

Concessions: Food and snacks. Also full bar with beer, wine and mixed drinks. No outside food will be permitted.

Admission: $12 adults and $5 for those younger than 12.
